11th International Accounting & Finance Doctoral Symposium 11th ~ 13th June 2017 at Bangor University, Wales
CALL FOR PAPERS
The 11th International Accounting & Finance Doctoral Symposium, is focused on developing the research strengths and skills of doctoral students. This symposium is hosted by the Bangor Business School at Bangor University, in partnership with the University of University of Strathclyde Business School, University of Queensland, Deakin University, Trondheim Business School, SKEMA Business School, University of Bologna, University of Leeds, Tsinghua University, University of Liverpool, SGH Warsaw School of Economics, Politecnico di Milano and the Australian National University.
The symposium builds on the tremendous success of previous meetings, which took place in Warsaw (2017) Glasgow (2016), Ljubljana (2015), Trondheim (2014), Bologna (2013), Glasgow (2012), Salamanca (2011), and Prato (2008-2010). IAFDS 2018 offers an excellent opportunity for students to present their work to an international audience outside their usual University environment. Prominent professors and researchers in the fields of finance, banking and accounting attend the symposium and provide detailed feedback to individual participants on their research.

SCOPE:
Each participant will receive a written review of their submitted paper, the opportunity to present their work to leading professors, a detailed one-on- one discussion with an experienced academic about their paper, and an excellent networking experience with other doctoral students from around the globe.
At the end of the symposium certificates will be awarded for the Michael McKenzie Best Paper; the Maria Strydom Best Presenter, the Paper with Most Potential, Best Pitch and Best Discussant.
All students will receive a Certificate confirming their participation at IAFDS11.
We seek original empirical and theoretical papers in the fields of finance, banking and accounting with an emphasis on findings that contribute to solving outstanding research problems of significant impact within these disciplines.
PAPER SUBMISSION INFORMATION:
The submission should be a full paper (with analysis/results). Each submission will be reviewed by the Doctoral Symposium programme committee. The main evaluation criteria are:
– Quality and originality of research
– The potential for impact
– Relevance to the accounting, banking and finance disciplines.
Only electronic submissions in PDF or Word format will be considered.
PARTICIPATION FEE:
Accepted students to the programme will be required to pay a fee of £300. This fee covers registration, symposium documents, a welcome pack, lunches, refreshments and the Welcome Reception and Gala dinner.
An information pack including information on hotel accommodation and their costs, symposium venue details, travel information and general information on Bangor will be provided with the notification of acceptance.

Registration deadline: Monday 7th May 2018
Deadline for electronic submission of final version of the paper Friday, 25th May 2018.
